The Full Story

To ease another’s heartache is to forget one’s own.

ABRAHAM LINCOLN

April 3, 2005, our life changed forever. Our father, who was the most social and generous man, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 43. His absence was instantly felt, he was a steady force in our day-to-day life. Our mom was now a single mom of two daughters, 16 and 9 years old, solely responsible for the finances. Our family quickly rallied around us, and so did the community.

Our childhood was filled with memories of giving back to those in need. From painting houses with Habitat for Humanity, to making sure others were fed on holidays, he loved to help others.

Suddenly we were the ones in need. Through fundraisers, golf tournaments, and donations, the amazing people in our lives raised money to insure we were able to keep our life as “normal” as possible, giving us room to grieve.

Sincerely,

Chelsea and Haley
